THE OUTSTANDING BUILDING OF THE YEAR COMMITTEE

Consider it The Best of Baltimore BOMA-style! Every two years, we select the buildings that we believe embody the values and the best practices of our industry.  Two subcommittees make up the full Building of the Year Committee: Judging and Event.  The Judging Subcommittee reviews and evaluates all of the entries in a two-phase process, which consists of a building tour and management team interview.  This Subcommittee requires knowledge about commercial property management or a very specific aspect of what makes a building exceptional.  The Event Subcommittee plans and executes the Building of the Year Awards Dinner.  This group selects the location, sets a budget, works with all vendors, develops the program, etc.  The majority of the work for this event takes place from May-November.  Special Thanks to our 2010 Building of the Year Granite Sponsor - VSC Fire & Security. See our 2010 winners.

The competition awards excellence in building management by evaluating all facets of a building's operations including budget and fiscal responsibility, staff structure, energy management, building systems maintenance, life safety, environmental initiatives and overall exceptional service.
