Better Benchmarking for Better Buildings

As green initiatives continue to take the lead in trends for building and property management, BOMA Baltimore strives to keep our members educated about energy and sustainability. Part of the way BOMA Baltimore members can keep up with how their building ranks against similar buildings is by using an interactive tool for benchmarking called Portfolio Manager through Energy Star. It allows you to track and assess energy and water consumption for all of the buildings you manage by using a confidential, secure online dashboard. In addition, you can view your building’s energy performance rating, estimate your carbon footprint, set investment priorities, verify and track progress of improvement projects and gain EPA recognition.

Our members also have the option of easily sharing the data collected by Portfolio Manager with BOMA Baltimore. Why share your building’s efficiency data with BOMA Baltimore? Every year, we have a group of experts represent our members in state and city legislative sessions. With the data of our members, we have a way of reporting how the organization is succeeding as a whole which helps support our legislative goals in these sessions. BOMA Baltimore also wants another opportunity to recognize our high achieving members with special acknowledgments. All data shared with BOMA Baltimore is kept strictly confidential and is only used for group reporting.

How do you share your Portfolio Manager data with BOMA Baltimore? Follow these simple steps to get started:
